Department of Forest Conservation and The erstwhile Department of Forestry was restructured by EXCO Conclusion No. GC(2007) 13 of 24th January, 2007, into (a) Department of Forest Management and Utilization and (b) Department of Conservation/Regeneration and Biodiversity . |

However posting of the directors took effect from June 2007 while that of the entire staff in compliance with the restructuring was conveyed by circular letter No.ADM/181/62 of 16th January, 2008. This Department is headed by a Director of Forestry. The two major divisions of the Department of Conservation are: |
