Obaseki congratulates Osikhekha, Ibrahim, others on Guild of Editors roles

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has felicitated with the reelected President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Mr. Mustapha Isah Osikhekha, on retaining the highly exalted position in the Guild at the recent NGE convention in Kano.

The governor also congratulated two other Edo-born editors, Mr. Iyobosa Uwugiaren, who was returned as General Secretary of the Guild and Mr. Umoru Ibrahim, a member of the Guild’s Standing Committee representing the North.

Obaseki, in a statement, celebrated the three illustrious Edo sons for the noble examples, set at time that Edo youths are seeking mentors and sources of inspiration, and wished them an impactful stay in office.

According to him, “Osikhekha’s reelection can be attributed to the sterling leadership acumen displayed while piloting the affairs of the guild in his first term in office.

“As a worthy son of Edo State, we celebrate his new feat and encourage him to keep the spirit of excellence alive. At a time that Edo youths are seeking for mentors and sources of inspiration, the feat singles Osikhekha out as someone worth emulating. His example would prove useful for many looking to take up careers in the media industry.”

The governor continued: “I also congratulate Mr. Iyobosa Uwugiaren, another son of Edo State, who was returned as General Secretary of the guild.

“Mr. Umoru Ibrahim, also from Edo State, is a member of the Guild’s Standing Committee representing the North.

“That we have three Edo sons occupying strategic positions in the guild is a testament to the commitment to excellence, hard work and sacrifice, common with our people. We are indeed proud of the noble example set by these illustrious sons of our dear state and wish them an impactful stay in office,” he added.
