Godwin Obaseki

EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE​

Godwin Obaseki, a seasoned financial expert and dedicated public servant, was sworn into office as the Executive Governor of Edo State on November 12, 2016. Prior to his governorship, he played a pivotal role as the Chairman of the Edo State Economic and Strategy Team, established in March 2009 by then-Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Governor Obaseki's impressive credentials include postgraduate degrees in Finance and International Business. He is a distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stock Brokers, Nigeria. His extensive career encompasses leadership roles in respected private sector institutions such as Afrinvest, Capital Trust Brokers Limited, International Merchant Bank, and AVC Funds Limited. Internationally, he served as a Principal of Equatorial Finance Company in New York, specializing in Structured Trade Finance for African businesses.

Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu

DEPUTY GOVERNOR OF EDO STATE​

Rt. Hon Comrade philip Shaibu was born on 1st December 1969 in Kaduna State into a family of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Shaibu of blessed memory, who were both Pastor and Teacher respectively

As an astute Politician with a proven and decent records in politics at all front with purposeful leadership, at the fourth Assembly in 2007 he became the Minority Whip and the Chairman of Education Committee. Still in the Fourth Assembly in 2010 he became the Majority Leader and the Chairman of House Committee on Rules, Business and Government House.

His faithfulness to duty and the servant-leadership representation he has shown over the years which endeared him to many, made the good people of Edo State on 28th September, 2016 elected him, the Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu as their Deputy Government Elect.
