The Edo State Government has rewarded an official of Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA), Obass Philip, for his commitment and dedication to duty.
Obass Philip, whose video went viral on social media, was seen controlling traffic during a heavy downpour in the Benin metropolis.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, who received the traffic official and the Managing Director of EDSTMA, Dennis Oloriegbe, said the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration recognizes hard work and will continue to reward those that distinguish themselves in their profession.
Iyoha explained that he saw the video of the young man online and decided to invite him to his office to commend and appreciate him for his dedication and commitment.
“I was touched by the video and invited the MD to bring him to my office, for the state government to appreciate him for his dedication to duty. He has done something extraordinary and we will duly reward him.”
“The government is watching and will always reward dedication to duty. I will take a picture with him and hang it in my office for a month to honour him,” he noted.
Earlier, the EDSTMA MD, Oloriegbe, said the video of the traffic official went viral on social media and calls came from across the globe, with many impressed citizens contributing to appreciate him.
