The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and the French Government have strengthened partnership to train not less than 3,000 youths in the creative and entertainment industry.

The training would be executed through a partnership with LAFAAAC La Femis (Ecole nationale superieure des metiers de l’image et du son),TeachonMars, Aim Group, and Wazobia Academy.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting at the Government House, Benin City, Managing Director, Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), Ukinebo Dare said the partnership is aimed at empowering over 3,000 job seekers in Edo State with the required expertise to drive entrepreneurship, self-dependence and job creation in the creative industry.

Dignitaries at the meeting include the Chief Executive Officer of Wazobia TV, Tatiana Moussalli Nouri and filmmaker, Stanlee Ohikuare, among others.

Dare said: “The meeting was to further discuss the partnership, which has been on for nine months. The team has developed the EdoJobsSkillUp Mobile App for the creative industry. Alongside this, there was a demo presentation to show how the app will work and a 2-day training on how to use the platform for those that would be managing it at Edojobs.”

She said EdoJobs is open to applications for the first batch of trainees, with the training slated to commence in January 2022.

“Edo people between the ages of 16 and above are eligible to have access to these trainings,” she added.
