The Life Value Awareness and Leadership Secure Initiative (LIVALSI) based in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has conferred the award of ‘ Living Hero of Leadership’, and ‘Best Personality Of The Year 2023’ on the Edo State Head of Service (HoS), Okungbowa Anthony Osas Esq. in his office at Government House, Benin City, in recognition of the leadership qualities, philanthropic nature and intellectual capabilities that have yielded positive impact on the welfare and well-being of the Civil and Public Servants in the State.
The Head of Service, Okungbowa Anthony Osas Esq., while receiving the award, lauded the initiative and dedicated the award to God Almighty for His grace and wisdom to lead, to Governor Godwin Obaseki for the opportunity to serve and the hard working Civil and Public Servants of the State.
The Head of Service stressed on the benefits of hard work that have made the State standout in all spheres it has delved into. He noted that through the policies of the Governor Godwin Obaseki’s led administration, Edo State can boast of having the best work environment for Civil and Public Servants in the Country, as well as being the only State in the Sub-Nationals in West Africa to have achieved 100 percent E-governance. The State equally boasts of being the fairest and most inclusive State regarding employment, the first State to grant automatic employment to First class graduates of Edo State origin from any part of the world, while being at the forefront in technology investment and the only State with the work force to be paid the thirteenth month salary.
He added that the Governor created the enabling environment for these achievements, and as a result, an award of recognition will be the proof of hard work and deliberate efforts to Make Edo Great Again, as this recognition would not have been possible if not for the collaborative efforts of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration.
During the award presentation, the Team President, LIVALSI, Ambassador Oladipo Musibua, extolled the leadership qualities of the Head of Service, describing him as a leader worth celebrating, a professional, a goal getter and also a humanitarian par excellence.
Ambassador Oladipo emphasized that the profile and achievements of the Head of Service are very comprehensive and intimidating, and such that his feat will continue to inspire many people especially in leadership.
He noted that LIVALSI recognized the antecedents, achievements and hardwork of the Head of Service which have earned him the prestigious award, because unlike the world who celebrate the dead, LIVALSI recognizes and celebrates living heroes; especially one who is the youngest serving Head of Service in the Country.
In an outpour of goodwill messages, the Permanent Secretary, Directorate of Corporate Change, Communications, Performance Management, Office of the Head of Service (Transformation Office), Mrs. Joan Akhigbe, applauded the doggedness and tenacity of the Head of Service and prayed that more recognition and excellence will be attributed to his name.
On his part, the Director of Establishments Manpower Accounting, Office of the Head of Service, Victor O. Okenini Esq., extolled the professional drive and hardworking nature of the Head of Service. He added that the Head of Service is service oriented and success driven which are attributes worth emulating.
