The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has mourned the passing of Pa Jackson Osariyekemwen, a part-time board member of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
In a statement, the governor said late Pa Osariyekemwen was a lover of education, whose contribution to the re-enacting of the state’s basic education sub-sector would not be forgotten.
According to him, “I received the news of the passing of Pa Jackson Osariyekemwen with a heavy heart. Serving as a part-time member of the SUBEB, he was passionate about educating the young and paid his dues to ensure that the school system served its purpose.
“Pa Osariyekemwen was also conscientious and committed to the task of returning Edo to the glory days, which informed his concerted efforts to join in updating the pedagogy of basic schools in the state to digital learning, as obtains in other advanced countries.
“His love for education was infectious and his contribution to basic education sector in the state will not be forgotten.”
The governor prayed that God grants Pa Osariyekemwen’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
