The Head of Service (HOS), Edo State, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, has sued staff of the Ministry of Mining and Energy to freely share information and express their thoughts towards enhancing productivity within the Service and the Ministry’s workplace.
Dr. Okungbowa gave the charge on Wednesday, 18th December, 2024, during his official visit to the Ministry in Benin City. He expressed his delight at being among civil and public servants and encouraged staff to optimise opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness at work place.
According to the HOS, his primary objective was to create a platform where employees can freely share ideas and give feedbacks, which would result in optimum productivity in the State. He also conveyed the State Governor’s intentions for the State, saying his desire is to create an environment where civil servants can thrive in all aspects.
“The Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is working out policies and programmes to ensure that you are able to grow and develop within the State. The Governor told me, civil servants thought they had enjoyed before, but they have not seen enjoyment,” He stated.
In his remarks, the HOS commended the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Ese Martina Omoruyi, for her outstanding leadership and transformative initiatives. He praised her efforts in changing the general outlook of the Ministry by expanding its reach, and significantly increasing productivity.
The visit was seen as a morale booster for staff, and the HOS’ commendations of the Permanent Secretary’s achievements is a testament to the Ministry’s progressive initiatives and potentials for future growth in the State.
