In the spirit of Yuletide, the Edo State Government, on Thursday, 19th December, 2024, organised a Christmas party for children in the State, at the State’s Government House in Benin City.
The Hostess and Administrator of the Edo State First Lady’s Office, Mrs. Edesili Anani, appreciated the State Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, for his approval to host children in the State.
In her address, Mrs. Anani extolled the sterling qualities of the State Governor and emphasised his love for children, saying, “Children of Edo State, good things are coming for you; better schools, good policies for your healthcare. The child rights in Edo State will be fully operational very soon. Every child in Edo State will be in school. Edo State will not have the issue of out-of-school children. The Governor has assured us all.”
The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Communication, Strategy and Media Projects, Hon. Godswill Inegbe, said, “We are here to celebrate the children of Edo State. We are here in the mood of the season to rejoice and thank God for making it possible for us to see this time of the year.
“On behalf of the Governor, who is a lover of children, who believes so much in the destinies and future of children, a man who is ready to transform the State, I welcome every one of us to this event.”
The event was graced by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Amb. Osaretin Idahosa; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Christian Religion Matters and Chaplain of the State Government House Chapel, Apostle Sule Faraday Azekhumen; members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), amongst others.
