Edo State is actively participating in the prestigious Global Hajj Conference and Exhibition currently going on in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The four-day event, hosted by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Pilgrim Experience Programme, brings together over 300 exhibitors and 100 speakers from around the world to discuss and showcase advancements in hajj and umrah services.
This significant event, which commenced on Tuesday January 13, 2025 aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s ambitious goal of modernizing and enhancing the pilgrim experience.
Edo State’s presence at the conference signifies a proactive approach to improving services for its own citizens undertaking the pilgrimage.
According to the chairman of Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh and the executive secretary, Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir who spoke via WhatsApp call this morning, the exhibition is focusing on the latest technologies and innovations within the hajj sector. It provides a valuable platform for Edo State officials to gain insights from global leaders in hajj and umrah management, including advancements in logistics, transportation, crowd management, and accommodation.
According to Chairman Uduimoh, “We are using the opportunity to network with key stakeholders. We are building relationships with service providers, industry experts, and other government delegations to explore potential collaborations and partnerships through this conference”
In his response, the executive secretary, Eranga added: “The conference also provides us the opportunity to investigate how cutting-edge technologies, digital solutions can enhance the safety and comfort of Edo State pilgrims”
The conference’s theme, “The Road to the Nusuk,” emphasizes key pillars for improving pilgrim services, including logistics, transportation, housing, and hospitality.
The active participation in these discussions by Edo State aims to translate the learnings into tangible improvements for its own pilgrims, ensuring a safe, seamless, and spiritually enriching experience.
