The Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barr. (Mrs.) Onomen Goodness Briggs, has charged the Association of Edo Indigenous Contractors on collaborations that would result in relevant functional basic education of acceptable global standards.
Mrs. Briggs gave the charge when she played host to the Association on Thursday, 23rd January, 2025, in her office in Benin City.
The SUBEB Boss, while welcoming delegates of the Association, highlighted the pivotal role of collaboration in achieving SUBEB’s mandate. She reiterated her commitment to driving initiatives aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure and ensuring that schools across the State meet global standards for quality learning environments.
“Education is the foundation of development, and our goal at SUBEB is to create a system that empowers every child with the tools for a better future. Your support as stakeholders is vital, and I look forward to working closely with you to achieve this mission,” she stated.
Earlier, the Association led by its Chairman, Elder Teddy Ononose with the Assistant Secretary, Okhidemeh Collins and the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Ntaji Godwin, said the visit was an opportunity for the group to congratulate the SUBEB Chairman on her appointment and affirm its readiness to support her administration’s vision for improving basic education in Edo State.
The Edo Indigenous Contractors Association expressed its appreciation for the Chairman’s openness to collaboration. Elder Ononose assured the SUBEB Chairman of their commitment to delivering high-quality projects that align with the Board’s objectives.
“We are ready to partner with your administration to ensure that every project entrusted to us is executed to the highest standards, contributing to the success of SUBEB’s vision,” he said.
As a gesture of goodwill, the Association presented the SUBEB Chairman with a beautifully designed commemorative frame. The symbolic gift underscored their shared commitment to fostering a productive partnership.
The visit concluded with mutual pledges to strengthen collaboration and advance the State’s Basic Education sector, ensuring a brighter future for children in Edo State.
