… urges professionals on development

By Godspower Eguasa

The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa has admonished citizens and residents of the State to shun the activities of mischief makers, who are involved in spreading rumours of rifts between him and his Principal, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Sen. Monday Okpebholo.

Rt. Hon. Idahosa gave the admonition when he played host to the executives and members of Edo Parliament of Nigeria, who paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Benin City.

In a statement endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo; the relationship between Rt. Hon. Idahosa and his Principal, Governor Okpebholo, was described as most cordial and akin to that of a senior- junior brother relationship.

While addressing rumors of rift being paraded by rumormongers between him and his Principal, Rt. Hon. Idahosa urged Edo citizens and residents to stay vigilant and refused to allow themselves to be carried away by wrong information, but rather, to focus on ongoing developments by the current administration.

“Let me quickly set the record straight, there are lots of insinuations and rumors that I and my Principal probably have issues. We do not have any single issue. My Principal and I, our relationship is like that of a Senior Brother and a Junior Brother,” He declared.

The Deputy Governor said that the Sen. Monday Okpebholo-led administration is keen on delivering good governance and implementing laudable policies that will uplift the living standards of Edo residents.

He said, “First, let me thank God Almighty that made this possible. Let me also appreciate my Principal, my Boss, having found me worthy to be his Deputy. Let me sincerely appreciate this Parliament. I am also a member of this parliament. It is such a great honour to have this caliber of men, most especially from Ovia, to pay this courtesy visit this wonderful afternoon. I am very much aware that you are doing so much to support this Government.

“We would be needing your supports and prayers, and we also know that majority of you are professionals, and when we need your contributions, ideas, and suggestions, please you will be there for us. “

In his address, the President of the Edo Parliament of Nigeria, Prof. Ikponmwonsa Omorodion, represented by the Secretary-General of the Parliament, Dr. Aimufua Festus, commended the developmental strides of the Sen. Okpebholo-led administration in the State. He also congratulated the Deputy Governor on the victory of his election in the State.
