The Coordinator of the office of the First Lady, Edo State, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has advised newly wedded, Edowaye Hilda Ihenyen and Isaac Igenebale Ebare, on the uniqueness of marriage, being an institution ordained by God.

Mrs. Anani gave the admonition during the marriage ceremony, which took place at the St. Patrick Catholic Church, Ugbowo, in Ovia North East Local Government of Edo State.

In her congratulatory speech to the newlyweds, Mrs. Anani wished them a lifetime of happiness and togetherness, saying, “Marriage is a sacred institution ordained by God. It forms part of the building block of every society and so, it should be greatly appreciated and respected”.

The parents of the bride and groom, who were visibly elated with joy, expressed their gratitude to Almighty God and prayed for their children to greatly excel in their home.

In same vein, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Osagie Dawodu, congratulated the couple and stressed the importance of the Couple making Jesus the center of their marriage. “There is always a storm in every marriage, but always learn to make Jesus your anchor in the midst of your storm. I wish them a marriage filled with God’s blessings, peace, love, and God’s favor,” he concluded.

The occasion was attended by dignitaries including some top functionaries of the Edo State Government, including the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Irene Ihensekhien, Chief Protocol, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Mabel Obeto, the Oredo Local Government Area Women Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Mrs. Esther Kolade, amongst other captains of industries, family members, and friends of the couple.

Mrs. Anani has been consistent in her support for family values and community development, a value that will support individuals and families in realizing the vision of the new and risen Edo State.
