Edo SUBEB Boss receives double leadership awards, pledges more commitment

The Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Barr. (Mrs.) Onomen Briggs, has been presented with a couple of souvenirs in recognition of her sterling qualities of improving on the basic education standards in the State.

Departmental directors and units’ heads of the Board did the first presentation of a framed portrait of herself, while the Management and staff of St. Matthews Royal Schools and the Benson Idahosa Cathedral Academy, Uromi, conferred on her, an Excellence in Leadership Award and a commemorative frame.

Barr. Briggs expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and recognitions of her leadership impact. She reassured of her commitment to collaboration, transparency, and innovation in driving policy implementation in the basic education sector. She emphasized the need for synergy among stakeholders to achieve the Board’s objectives and enhance educational outcomes.

According to the presenters, the awards were in recognition of Barr. Briggs’ dedication to educational reforms and her efforts in strengthening foundational learning in the State. As they offered prayers for her successful tenure, they pledged their collective commitment to realizing her vision and expressed confidence in her capacity to advance the State’s basic education sector.

The departmental directors and the heads of units include the Director of Shared Services, Mrs. Beatrice Ada Oluku; the Director of Legal, Mrs. Justina Odubel; the Director of Schools Support Services, Mr. Austin Otas Osegbe; the Director of Quality Assurance, Mr. Goodluck Edomwandagbon; and the Director of Social Mobilization, Mr. Austin Ighodaro.

Also in attendance were the Director of Finance & Accounts, Mrs. Joy Alakiri; the Director of Project and Physical Planning, Mr. Martins Amune. Others are Mrs. Eunice Onuabhagbe, Mrs. Blessing Amandasun, Mrs. Blessing Umagbae, and Mrs. Hawa Etsenumhe.

The event reinforced a shared vision for progress, setting a strong foundation for continued engagement and development within the basic education sector.
