The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa has reaffirmed the commitment of the State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo-led administration to protecting the rights and dignity of women and children, as well as securing justice for oppressed citizens and residents in the State.
Rt. Hon. Idahosa gave the assurance when he played host to the Edo State Branch of the International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA), led by its Chairperson, Barr. Princess Francisca Elema, during a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor at the Government House in Benin City.
According to the Deputy Governor, “The Executive Governor has made it clear on several occasions that in this Government, every citizen will have access, especially as it relates to the rights of women and children. “I want to assure you that as a government, we are going to partner with you to protect the rights of women and children. I am here to also encourage you in the interim, that whatsoever you are doing to bring peace and stability to our State, and to bring justice to those that would not have had the resources to go to court, we appreciate it”.
Rt. Hon. Idahosa commended the leadership and members of FIDA for their continued commitment to restoring the dignity to Edo residents, especially women and children. He assured the Association of the State Government’s partnership and support in helping it achieve its goals.
The Deputy Governor concluded that he will discuss with his principal and revert to FIDA, as according to him, “That is why we will not have any choice other than to partner with you to make sure that justice is served to all Edo citizens”.
