The Edo State Governor, Sen. Monday Okpbholo. Represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa has performed the foundation laying ceremony of a thousand capacity auditorium and the commissioning of Sienna buses in Ovia North-East Local Government Area (LGA) of the State.

According to Sen. Okpebholo, the initiative of the auditorium is geared towards the infrastructural development, while the buses are meant for improving security and the safety of residents in the locality.

The Governor while appreciating the performances of the Ovia North-East Council Chairman, Hon. Igbinake Omoruyi, whom he said within four months of assumption of office, has set the pace for transformational development in the area, said the project are laudable. He stated, “Mr. Chairman, we are here to commend you for what you have done within the space of four months. You have shown leadership, and let me use this opportunity to also thank the leadership of Ovia North-East, for giving you all the necessary advice, support, and prayers.

“Today, we can all see the essence of governance, it is for the interest of the people, and today we have lots of vehicles here, for the masses and the security agencies to curb insecurity in Ovia North-East. This is what distinguished Sen. Monday Okpebholo stands for; to ensure that we reduce insecurity to the barest minimum, and today, we have displayed that. I want to thank you, Mr. Chairman, for what you have done; not just for the Ovia people, but for me as well. You have made me proud.”

He urged Edo Citizens and Residents to keep hopes high, as the Okpebholo-led administration in the State is set to improve the developmental narrative of Edo. “Today’s event is not a surprise; we were very certain that he is going to give that good leadership, and we can see the dividends of democracy for the people of Ovia North-East,” Sen. Okpebholo concluded.

The Council Chairman, Hon. Omoruyi, commended the developmental strides of the Sen. Okpebholo-led administration in transforming the security architecture of the State and assured residents in the area of greater commitments to delivering more laudable projects that will drive development and improve their standard of living.
