The Coordinator, Office of the Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Anani, has emphasized the importance of collaboration among the All Progressive Congress (APC) women in achieving their common goals including the election of Hon. Joseph Ikpea in the forthcoming Edo Central Senatorial by-election slated for Saturday, 16th August, 2025.
Mrs. Anani made the call while addressing APC Women stakeholders comprising the concerned Senatorial District, local government areas (LGAs), ward women leaders, wives of council and party chairmen, amongst others, at the Esan Central LGA Secretariat in Irrua, Edo State.
In her address, Mrs. Anani emphasized the significance of women supporting one another and lending their voices to advocate for shared courses. She condemned the practice of undermining fellow women, saying that it hinders progress. According to her, “When women support women, the Country will progress. We must learn to support our own, because when one of us takes leadership position, she will not neglect us.”
She urged the women to turn out in large numbers to cast their votes for Hon. Ikpea in the forthcoming by-election and asserted that their support for the Party’s Candidate for the Senatorial Seat will pave the way for women to occupy leadership positions. She pledged her maximum support to the women, noting that they could always reach out to her as her Office remains open to them.
A Special Adviser to the Governor, Hon. Esther Eghaghe, while appreciating Mrs. Anani’s contributions to the development of the State, pleaded with the women to lend their full support to Hon. Ikpea in his political aspirations.
