As part of efforts towards effective service delivery in the Health Care Sector, the Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Area (LGA), Rt. Hon. Alabi Bliss Oshionogue has welcomed the National Health Facility Survey 2025 Team from the National Bureau of Statistics and the representatives of the Federal Ministry of Health as partners at the Council’s Secretariat in Igarra.

Rt. Hon. Oshionogue, while receiving the partners, assured them of safety and the Council’s support in ensuring accurate data collection across the health facilities in the ten wards of the LGA.

According to him, “I appreciate your coming, though I was away in Benin City on an official engagement when you first visited. As a proactive and responsive government, we want to ensure that you deliver accurate report about us to NBS Abuja, because we cannot do it alone as a Council.

“Edo State and the Local Governments are working in synergy to guarantee quality health care delivery to the people. The Federal Government owns us all and this is the more reason we prioritize the Health Sector as a critical component of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda.

Rt. Hon. Oshionogue disclosed that the Local Government Council constituted the Health Task Force Committee, which is charged with the responsibility of information and data gathering in all the 40 Primary Health Care Centres across the Local Government Area.
Speaking earlier, the Team Lead, the National Bureau of Statistics, Momoh Adama disclosed that the Team was directed to do a survey on all health workers, staff service delivery and working tools, explaining that Akoko-Edo is one of the LGAs selected across the 774 Local Government Councils in Nigeria for the exercise.

Momoh said that designated PHCs were selected randomly to cover thirty one Health Centres in Edo North Senatorial District.
