‎The Coordinator, Office of the Edo State First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani, has commended the Lady’s Division of the Benin Golf Section for its inclusive approach and mentorship of the younger generation.

‎Mrs. Anani gave the commendation during a meeting with the golfers at the Government House in Benin City. She highlighted the benefits of golf to include mental and physical, saying, “Golf is a game of class. It does not only challenge us mentally but also works wonders for our physique and posture. I’m thrilled to welcome golfers from the State to my Office. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all members, captains, past and present for your dedication. It’s particularly heartening to see past captains included, as it showcases the spirit of inclusivity that brings everyone on board”.

‎Emphasizing the vital role of experienced individuals in guiding younger ones, Mrs. Anani highlighted the importance of mentorship, citing its biblical basis, organizational advantages and profound impact on future generations. She reaffirmed her dedication to serving others and supporting various organizations, offering her assistance wherever possible.

‎In her remark, the Leader of the Lady’s Division of the Benin Golf Section, Mrs. Stella Ajayi, expressed appreciation over the warm reception accorded them, commending Mrs. Anani’s efforts in supporting vulnerable groups.

‎She further lauded Mrs. Anani’s commitment to community development and women’s empowerment, adding that the programmes of the Office of the First Lady aligned with the golfing community’s values of promoting health, unity and positive change in Edo State.

‎Mrs. Ajayi emphasized golf’s potential in fostering unity among women and promoting positive values, while seeking partnerships to drive empowerment initiatives for women and youth.

‎ According to her, “Golf for us is a platform that brings women together, fostering discipline, camaraderie and mental wellness.

‎“Our visit today is not only to pay our respect, but also to extend a hand of friendship and collaboration. We would be honoured to have Your Excellency join us at the 30th Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) Ladies Open Tournament, where your presence will surely uplift and inspire our members. We also hope to explore avenues where we can support your ongoing initiatives, particularly those that empower women and youth in the State”.
