‎The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (BTVET), Mrs. Onomen Briggs Esq., has paid a monitoring visit to the Benin Technical College to assess the level of compliance with the directives on school resumption by the State Ministry of Education.

‎Mrs. Briggs who witnessed the enrolment process in the Technical College, admonished the students to pay close attention to their studies, as they can achieve goals which they set their minds on.

‎She assured the students and parents that brighter days lie ahead for Technical Education in Edo State with the support of His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo and the new Federal Government initiatives mapped out to enhance Technical Education in the country.

‎Declaring the 2025/2026 Academic Session open, Mrs. Briggs who took a tour round the school facility, inspecting some newly acquired equipment, which included an industrial gas oven, digital wheel balancing machine and a dough mixer, revealed that plans were underway for the College to commence commercial bread production, while disclosing that the installation of the newly purchased equipment was in progress and would be completed in a week.

‎Barr. Briggs urged teachers to remain committed to their duties by delivering the theoretical and practical aspects of Technical Education, charging them to shun all forms of vices and uphold diligence in service.

‎The Chairman was accompanied on the monitoring exercise by the Functioning Board Secretary, Mrs. Stella Ogbeide, the Functioning Director of Learning and Development, Mr. Benedict Irabosa and the Functioning Director of Policy Strategic Coordination, Mrs. Blessing Odion, amongst others.
