The Edo State Head of Service (HOS), Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, has been honoured with an award of Excellence by the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Students (PANS), University of Benin Chapter, in recognition of his numerous contributions to societal growth and humanity, particularly in the State.
The award was presented during a courtesy visit to Dr. Okungbowa in his office at the Government House, Benin City.
In his remark, he appreciated the Association for the honour, commending the students for their vision and commitment to professional growth. He urged them to remain focused, emphasizing that excellence and diligence always attract rewards.
According to the HOS, “I am impressed with what you are doing. Whatever you choose to do, do it well. Reward may not always be financial, but will surely come”.
He urged the Association on the importance of engaging with stakeholders beyond the university environment as part of measures towards achieving its objectives.
The HOS described the Association’s newly launched project, “Pharma World Magazine” as a thoughtful platform for sharing ideas, innovations and initiatives that would strengthen PANS and project its image positively to the public.
Earlier, the President of the Association, appreciated Dr. Okungbowa for his support, noting that his contributions to governance and Public Service delivery inspired young people across the State. He particularly appreciated his representation at the Association’s recent Health Week Opening Ceremony.
The engagement climaxed with the presentation of copy of the Pharma World Magazine to the HOS.
