The Edo state Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Zubairu Dada Abubakar has reiterated the State Government’s support to the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), Edo State Chapter.

He made the pledge when members of NFSAN, Edo State Chapter, paid him a courtesy visit, in his office in Benin City. He admonished the students to be good ambassadors of the State in their various institutions of learning and advised them to also interface with the Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues, as the State Government has provided for opportunities via the Ministry.

In her address, the President of NFSAN, Edo State Chapter, Comrade Winner Oyibo-Itie, stated that the primary objective of NFSAN is to inspire and motivate female students to reach their full potential.

According to her, “The Association aims to encourage female students to strive for excellence, plan for life after school, and provide support and resources to help them succeed by fostering unity and support among female students. NFSAN seeks to create a positive and empowering environment for them to thrive.

“The Association is dedicated to empowering female students through awareness creation, support, and unity building. It achieves this by organizing seminars, webinars, and educational events focused on guiding female students towards success.”

She added: “NFSAN operates across all government-owned schools in Edo State, excluding private institutions. As an offshoot of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), NFSAN was established in 2019 with a three-tier structure – National, Zonal, and State Levels. The Association’s motto is ‘Pride of Womanhood’.”
