Towards strengthening healthcare delivery in Edo State, the Governor, His Excellency, Sen. Monday Okpepholo, has appointed Augusta Ikpea-Enaholo as the Director-General of the Edo State Health Insurance Commission (EDHIC).
Her appointment is a testament to the State Government’s commitment to strengthening the State healthcare sector and advancing its vision of achieving the Universal Health Coverage.
With over 20 years of experiences spanning law, public administration, healthcare reform, and corporate governance, Ikpea-Enaholo will bring a wealth of expertise to her new role. She holds an LLB from the University of Kent, an LLM from the University of Bristol, and a Doctorate in Maritime Law from the International Maritime Law Institute, Malta. She is also a member of several prestigious professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
In her career, Ikpea-Enaholo has held key positions in public and private sectors, including serving as Principal Legal Officer at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA); Executive Director at Lee Engineering and Construction Company; and Chief Executive Officer at Royal Oaks Events Limited. Her robust background in policy development, corporate governance, and regulatory affairs has equipped her with the skills necessary to lead EDHIC in achieving its vision of providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to Edo residents.
Speaking on her appointment, Ikpea-Enaholo expressed her commitment to driving sustainable growth and innovation within the Commission. She emphasized the importance of collaboration among stakeholders and reiterated her vision of making EDHIC a model of excellence in healthcare service delivery in the comity of states.
Under her leadership, the Commission aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in healthcare administration, ensuring that residents in Edo State benefit from quality health services.
With Ikpea-Enaholo at the helm of affairs in EDHIC, the State is poised to achieve new milestones in the health sector transformation; reinforcing the State Government’s dedication to the well-being of its people.
