In a bid to avoid a vacuum in the Local Government Administration based on the knowledge that government is a continuum, the Clerk of the legislative arm, Mr. Usman Desmond has administered the oath of office on Rt. Hon Tope Jacob as Vice Chairman of the Local Council. Until his present position, the honourable member was a leader of the hallowed chambers.
In a related development, a former Deputy Leader of the house and Councillor representing Ward 10, Rt. Hon Nicholas Akosile has emerged as the House Leader.
Addressing journalists after the oath-taking ceremony, the duo asserted that governance is a continuous process while expressing readiness to collaborate with the Council Chairman to reshape the locality even as they pledged their unwavering commitment to the policies and programs of the State Government under the leadership of Senator Monday Okpebholo to envision a new working State.
In the same vein, Hon. Topa Okomayin became the Secretary to the Local Government; Hon. Steve Ehihi, Political adviser; Ajayi Julius, Chief Press Secretary; Ajayi Linus, Chief Security Officer; Francis Alonge, Protocol Officer; John Kpamehase, Personal Assistant; Martins Friday Agun as Special Assistant.
Others are Fatumbi Adeleye, Comrade Ebenezer Oladele, Ganiyu Ibrahim, and Abdulahi Jomoh as Supervisory Councillors respectively.
