The Vice Chairman, Akoko-Edo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Comrade Tope Jacob has enjoined all citizens of Ososo to eschew all forms of infighting and collaborate with BUA Cement Company to attract rapid development in the area.
Rt. Hon. Jacob noted that the company’s Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) would be all-encompassing and would help to reshape the area.
The Vice Chairman who pointed out that official engagements didn’t allow him to interface with the Council of Chiefs and Elders earlier, commended the Community Laison Officer (CLO) Mr. James Osheku; the CDA Chairman, Engr. Fred Attah and members; Community Patriots; a devoted Humanitarian, Mr. T. J Balogun, and all stakeholders for ensuring that all necessary arrangements were made to accommodate all and sundry.
Rt. Hon. Jacob admonished the indigenes to sheath their swords and tread the path of peace, explaining that the “Multi-Billion Naira” company has the capacity to employ over three thousand indigenes through direct and indirect jobs. He further pointed out that everyone is a critical stakeholder in the community development circle.
Rt. Hon. Jacob thereafter gave the assurance that the local council would work in collaboration with the state government in fulfillment of its 5-point agenda as well as harnessing the abundant mineral deposits in the locality for the betterment of all, while also expressing his profound gratitude on behalf of the council boss to his Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the Executive Governor of Edo state for finding them worthy to serve as well as providing the enabling environment for businesses and investments to thrive
