The newly appointed Edo State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Etin-osa Ogbeiwi has called for collaboration in the execution of policy to drive progress, against the backdrop that the Ministry carries huge responsibilities and must work in alignment with the vision and mission of the Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, which is aimed at fostering development across all sectors of the State.
Hon. Ogbeiwi made the call during his maiden engagement with staff and stakeholders of the Ministry in Benin City, where he appreciated staff for the warm reception accorded him on assumption of office. He described himself as part of the family and solicited their cooperation in moving the Ministry forward, noting that he was in the Ministry to learn and work collectively towards driving policies and formulation of initiatives that would enhance the overall development of the State.
The Commissioner highlighted the crucial role of Science and Technology in promoting a scientific approach to governance and in strengthening inter-agency collaboration across MDAs. He assured that his guidance will enhance the Ministry’s innovations that will strategically lead to achieving tangible results in the State. He gave assurances on understudying the Ministry to be able to proffer practicable solutions to challenges faced and reiterated his commitment to fostering efficiency in service delivery.
On behalf of the staff of the Ministry, the Functioning Permanent Secretary, Engr. Jonathan Ukpebor, assured the Commissioner of their cooperation in actualizing the State Government’s vision.
