Edo 2020: We’ll ensure you get 100% votes from Anwain, traditional rulers assure Obaseki

The traditional ruler of Anwain Community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, Alhaji Mufutairu Oare, has assured the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, that he would mobilise members of his community to ensure the governor gets 100 percent of the votes at the September 19 governorship poll.

Alhaji Oare, the Eramah Anwain of Anwain Kingdom, gave the assurance when he received the campaign team of the PDP in his palace as part of the PDP’s Edo North Senatorial District campaign, ahead of the forthcoming election.

The governor was also endorsed by HRH Zaiki Abulemen Shaibu, who lauded the governor’s developmental strides, adding: “You have done it before and we believe you will do it again. You are the only governor since inception to have remembered us. We are going to give you our prayers and support.”

Alhaji Oare said: “We will deliver 100 per cent of the votes in Anwain to you. The ‘Wake and See Governor’ given to you by Edo people is real.

“I have ordered all my subjects to come home and vote for you overwhelmingly. You and your Deputy, Philip Shaibu have never undermined my place and we are happy for that. You tarred Anwain Road which caused us nightmares in the past. You changed the narrative.

“I don’t think that anybody in this community will vote against you. This Ward 8 is totally for you. You are not here to campaign, but you only came home to visit your people.”

The traditional ruler prayed through one of his palace chiefs, Mallam Ogudu Zubair, the Deputy Chief Imam of Anwain, who asked that Almighty Allah continue to protect the governor and his entourage.

Governor Obaseki said he was also in Anwain to inspect the ongoing road construction in the community.

“I want to thank you for this massive turn out. Like you have said earlier, my visit is not for campaign but for visitation. We will continue the road project in Anwain. My administration loves education. I will continue to train teachers through our Edo Basic Education Sector Transformation (EDOBEST) programme. In my second term, my administration will prioritise farming, as I will make Anwain a farming hub in the state.”
