The candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the just concluded Edo State Governorship poll, Mr. Jones Osagiobare, has congratulated Mr. Godwin Obaseki on his victory at the poll, describing it as well-deserved.
Osagiobare made the submission when he led other members of his party on a courtesy visit to Government House, Benin City, Edo State.
According to him, “We are here to congratulate you in the just concluded governorship election. It is a well-deserved victory. We give God all the glory.
“Your excellency, we at YPP believe that tangible and people-oriented development enquires the collective responsibility of all stakeholders. To this end, we will like to fully participate in your soon-to-be-inaugurated administration.”
“We see ourselves as partners in the development of our dear state. We believe that, together, we can lift our state to even more enviable heights,” he added.
Governor Obaseki, on his part, said that YPP and its members were key to strengthening democracy in the state and Nigeria at large.
“You had an option of sitting back and watching things go bad, but you decided to lend your voice to the democratic process. I want to formally thank you for the support you rendered to my party in the just-concluded governorship election.
“The election victory was a victory for all of us. It was a victory for democracy; it was a victory for Edo people and a victory for Nigeria.”
The governor assured that his administration would be very inclusive, saying that ideas can come from anywhere and everywhere, noting that he would screen out ideas to fast track development in the state.
