Edo Attends Pre-Hajj Meeting in Zam Zam Hotel Makkah

….Discusses Pilgrim Welfare, Hajj Fare

The Edo State delegation to Saudi Arabia for pre-Hajj visit were among the active participants in a crucial meeting held at Zam Zam Hotel in Makkah yesterday Monday January 13th 2025.

The Chairman of the board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh and the executive secretary, Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir who led the delegation Noted that the key issues discussed include welfare of pilgrims, review of Hajj fare for a possible reduction and payment deadline.

The meeting brought together Chairmen/ CEOs and Secretaries of Pilgrims Welfare Boards from all 36 states of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja to discuss critical issues related to the upcoming Hajj season.

According to the Chairman, Edo State Muslim Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, “The meeting focused on enhancing the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia, including accommodation, transportation, and medical services. Strategies were explored to potentially reduce the cost of Hajj for Nigerian pilgrims. The meeting addressed the deadline for Hajj payment and registration for the 2025 season, providing crucial information to prospective pilgrims in Edo State and across Nigeria”

The executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir noted that the Edo State delegation actively participated in the discussions, sharing insights and contributing to the collective efforts to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj pilgrimage for Nigerian Muslims.

This pre-Hajj meeting serves as a vital platform for Nigerian officials to coordinate with Saudi authorities and address any challenges that may arise during the Hajj season.
