The Edo State Government has urged workers in the state to be committed to their duties and support the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration in the actualisation of the ‘Making Edo Great Again’ Agenda.
Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., gave the charge on Monday, during a meeting with staff of the Edo State Public Procurement Agency, in Benin City.
According to him, “Governor Godwin Obaseki is in a hurry; we are in a hurry to develop and upgrade roads, public buildings, schools or hospitals. These are the things that the people see that show the importance of the work you all do.
“Edo people cannot wait for too long, and so, if we are impatient with you, you should understand; this is because we will not be here forever.
“If files get to your table, don’t waste time with them; don’t say I can do it tomorrow; it is very, very important.”
“Please, I want to appeal to you people to join Mr. Governor in achieving his goals. Do your own work; do it on time. It is very important. It is what you do that Edo people will use to judge you,” he noted.
Ogie further urged the agency to adopt international best practices and professionalism in discharging their responsibilities so they can become the leading procurement regulatory agency in Nigeria.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Edo State Public Procurement Agency, Mr. Henry Idogun, assured the governor of the agency’s commitment to contributing their quota to the development of the state.
