Edo First Lady advocates unity, pledges Govt support to human development

The Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani has sued for unity among women in Edo State for unified human development, irrespective of ethnic backgrounds or ideological leanings.

Mrs. Anani made the call when she played host to representatives of the Afemai Women in Politics, who paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the First Lady at the Government House in Benin City.
While addressing the guests, Mrs. Anani emphasized oneness as a key aspect of her advocacy, highlighting the importance of harmony as a unifying force that brings people together, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds, to achieve a common goal.

Mrs. Anani maintained that unity is a fundamental aspect of the Edo people’s identity, saying, “We Edos are one and it doesn’t matter whether we are from the North, South, or Central; we are one body”. She appreciated the Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo as a team player, who is committed to carrying everyone along, ensuring that no senatorial district is left behind in his mission of development in the State.

She stated that it is important to build a supportive community where women uplift and empower each other. She also highlighted the need for a community of sisterhood, where women raise funds to support one another in attaining maximum economic prosperity.
Earlier, the Leader of the delegation, Princess Awa Loveth Ewere while appreciating Mrs. Anani for her hard work and leadership, stated that Afemai Women in Politics is committed to supporting her office in advancing women’s empowerment in the State.
“We appreciate your hard work and resilience. We have confidence in your leadership, and we are here to express our commitment to partnering with your office. Afemai Women in Politics will give you the necessary support to advance women’s empowerment in the State,” Princess Ewere concluded.
