Edo govt, GIZ SEDIN train over 350 entrepreneurs in Edo South, Central on business digitalization

The Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs) and the Edo State Investment Promotion Office (ESIPO), in collaboration with the German Development Office-Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ SEDIN) have completed training for over 350 business owners on digital marketing.

Managing Director, Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs), Ukinebo Dare, said the training was held at the Edo Innovates Hub, in Benin City and Uromi.

She said similar training will also be organized for business owners in Edo North, noting “The business digitalization programme at Edo South and Central witnessed huge numbers of testimonies from entrepreneurs that participated in the programme.

“The success stories of beneficiaries from Edo South and Central fast-tracked the need to extend the training to entrepreneurs in Edo North. The training in Edo North targets 50 entrepreneurs.”

According to her, “the business digitalization programme is an intensive three (3) days digital marketing training session aimed at enlightening business owners on the importance of acquiring digital skills to boost online presence and improve sales.

“The last stream will hold at the Council Hall, Sabongida Ora, Owan West Local Government Area, from the 22nd of July to 24th of July, 2021.

“Application for the business digitalization programme is ongoing, on the various EdoJobs social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp groups, as interested entrepreneurs can apply.”

Mrs. Nkiruka Chukwu, Chief Executive Officer of Nkay’s kitchen, said, “It was a very impactful, eye-opening and enlightening session for me; I am now well-informed on how to drive traffic and generate sales for my business, using the different digital platforms that I have learnt.”
