Edo, investors begin devt of Emotan Gardens Phase II

The Edo State Government through the Edo Development and Property Agency (EDPA) has signed an agreement with six construction firms to commence the development of phase II of Emotan Gardens.

The Executive Chairman, EDPA, Isoken Omo, who supervised the signing of the agreement, said that the Emotan Garden sits on a 70-hectare of land situated within three communities.

The new developers are: Nigerian Air force Housing and Construction Company Limited; Options for Good and Affordable Homes Foundation Limited; Alpha Mead Development Company Limited; WTF Construction Nigeria Limited; Parakuo Nigeria Limited and Helpline Homes Limited.

According to her, “The Emotan Garden sits on 70 hectares of land that is situated within three communities; Egba, Okharonovia and a bit of Aviama community.

“Upon completion, the estate would have a minimum of 1,440 housing units.”

Omo added:  “We would have all the compliments and support facilities to have it as a cohesive community. At the front here, we would have the commercial shopping area and then a school, religious centres, police station, and everything you need to actually thrive.

“This estate is going to be one of the biggest in the state. Governor Godwin Obaseki, as we all know, is a breaker of records. A lot of mistakes have been learned from the first phase.”

“We want to do this quicker; we have a time-frame within which we must finish this estate. That is why this estate has been subdivided into smaller lots so that it will be quicker to start and finish,” she added.

One of the developers, Dr. Nosa Omere, a representative of Wall-Ties Form Construction Company Nigeria Limited, noted, “As we speak, we already have off-takers; we apparently started marketing online from the United Kingdom, the United States and Europe. People have been waiting for the signing of this agreement to be able to come in.”
