Edo residents hail Obaseki for free medical outreach 

Edo residents who are beneficiaries of the ongoing free medical outreach by the state government have commended Governor Godwin Obaseki for prioritizing the health and welfare of the people.

The five-day medical mission for over 4, 000 residents, is being organized in collaboration with the Association of Nigeria Physicians in the Americas (ANPA).

The outreach programme includes surgical interventions and treatments for heart, kidney, eye and other ailments.

Speaking to journalists monitoring the exercise in Benin City, the beneficiaries said the governor has continued to deliver on his promises to citizens, putting the people at the forefront of every of his government’s programmes and policies.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Usifo Irene who received care at the Health Board Management in Ring Road said, “I am here to check my eye and I have been examined. They also conducted a COVID-19 test on me, which turned out negative.

She further stated, “I was examined and given medicated eyeglasses and some medications.”

Irene applauded the state government for the access to effective and quality medical care.

Another beneficiary, Mr. Kasimi Godswork, who narrated his experience at the free medical outreach, noted, “My experience here today is wonderful and encouraging. I heard about this programme on the radio and decided to be a part of the event. I am not just overwhelmed but highly impressed.

“My eyes were examined and I was asked to return tomorrow to see a doctor. I thank the state government for this laudable initiative.”

On his part, Mr. Tony Ogbonna, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the state government and its partners, noting that his daughter who has issues with her sight benefited from the programme.

“My daughter who has had issues with her eyesight for a while now was well attended to and the service rendered at the designated centre was fast and prompt,” he stated.
