‎Edo State Government through the Edo State Forestry Commission, has received delegates from the Dangote Group at the State Office of the Commission in Benin City, as part of efforts to collaborate with the Commission in its reforestation reforms for the State.

‎The Chairman of the Commission, Hon. (Dr.) Valentine Asuen, while appreciating the Dangote Group for its willingness to partner the Commission on the reforestation programme, stated, “The right time to plant trees is now, and we are always open for partnership”.

‎Hon. Asuen disclosed that the reforestation project of 200 hectares would cut across the three senatorial districts for a period of five years and part of efforts aimed at restoring green cover to enhance biodiversity and combat climate change in the State.

‎The Head of Business Department of the Dangote Group, Mr. Tolu Adedayo, said the reforestation project was part of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to support biodiversity and community land use through employment and education. The project aims to plant trees on two hundred hectares of land over the next five years.
