To bridge the gap occasioned by the recent disengagement with its Consultant, the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has produced weekly scripted lesson plans for Early Childhood Care Development and Education (ECCDE) through Junior Secondary School (JSS).
According to the functioning Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Hon. Ebanehita Sonia Omonzane, “Over 50 educators from Edo South, Central, and North senatorial districts convened for a two-day workshop to finalize the Lesson Plans, aligning content with the National Curriculum for Basic Education. Each lesson content development officer was equipped with a tablet, schemes of work, textbooks, and supplementary resources, to function optimally in producing the scripted lesson plans.
Hon. Ebanehita lauded the Team’s dedication, saying, “I commend every educator who contributed the requisite skills and insights. This transition underscores our commitment to sustainability and localized expertise. Deployment has not yet begun but is scheduled for the upcoming week once schools resume from the mid-term break.
“The Planning, Research, and Statistics (PRS) Team is finalizing formatting, ensuring that teachers receive uniform, high-quality lesson scripts digitally to their devices. When deployment starts, SUBEB will conduct periodic reviews and gather feedbacks from teachers and students to continually refine instructional delivery.”
The Desk Officer for Curriculum Development, Mr. Dele Salami, corroborated the SUBEB’s Boss, stating, “We provided our officers with tablets and all necessary instructional materials to enhance speed, accuracy and efficiency. This approach strengthens SUBEB’s capacity and reduces reliance on external providers.”
