Executive Director, EdoSACA, Flora Oyakhilome disclosed this to journalists in Benin City.
She said the honour is in recognition of the government’s outstanding performance in community outreach and engagement especially, in mobilizing resources for HIV response in the state.
Oyakhilome asserted that the well-deserved award further showcases the government’s resolve to reduce HIV/AIDS prevalence to its barest minimum.
She added that the award reception ceremony is scheduled to take place on November 4, 2021, during the closing ceremony of the Strategic Media Engagement Refresher Training in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The Executive Director however reassured that the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration will sustain efforts to ensure the prevention and management of the disease across the state, urging residents to support the government in its bid to achieve an HIV/AIDS-free state.
She restated the EDOSACA determination to achieve the UNAIDS target of eliminating HIV/AIDS by the year 2030 through the 95:95:95 strategy aimed at achieving zero new infection by 2030.
The NACA SSZO Award (NSA), according to the organizers, is an annual award intended to recognize the presence and outstanding performance of partners and stakeholders in the South-South HIV response.
