The Edo State Emergency Management Agency (EdoSEMA) has again condoled with the family of the late Firefighter, God’stime Omotor, who lost his life while responding to a fire incidence in Benin City.
While conveying the Agency’s condolences, the EdoSEMA’s Executive Secretary, Hon. Jerry Idahosa with his Team, comprising the Director of Operations, Engr. Michael Aigbokhan, and other senior officials, delivered essential relief materials to the bereaved family to help alleviate their immediate needs.
The relief items included bags of rice and beans, cooking oil, tubers of yam, school supplies, and other household essentials. The EdoSEMA Boss said the gesture was aimed at supporting the late Firefighter’s Widow, Mrs. Blessing Omotor, and their six children. He appreciated late Omotor’s dedication, heroism, and described him as a professional, who was hardworking and committed, as well as made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Hon. Idahosa while assuring Mrs. Omotor of the State Government’s commitment to her family, stated, “We will stand with you. Edo State will not forget your husband’s sacrifice.” The supplies reflect EdoSEMA’s mission to honour and support the families of emergency service personnel who lose their lives while protecting others. The Agency is committed to ensuring the welfare of such families, underlining the importance of recognising the sacrifices made by first responders.
The Omotor family expressed gratitude for the support, noting that it would help ease their burden during the difficult times. EdoSEMA’s gesture serves as a reminder of the State’ Government’s appreciation for bravery and selflessness of its emergency workers.
