The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Hon. Ebanehita Sonia Omonzane has embarked on an end of session visits to schools as part of commitments to proffering solutions to identified challenges towards ensuring learners get quality education in the State.

During the visits, the Chairman engaged teachers and school heads to ascertain challenges faced in the just concluded term and got feedbacks on areas which required improvement. She commended teachers for their hard work in the just concluded Session with a promise that the Board would look into the areas of concerns to make possible improvements, and warned against child labour in schools.

According to Hon. Omonzane, “Education remains a key agenda of the Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration and hence all hands must be on deck to ensure that the vision of the government especially in the Basic Education Sector is achieved”. She reiterated that Basic Education is free in Edo State and urged school heads to enforce the policy.

Hon. Omonzane also inspected the ongoing construction project at Eko-Iyobhebhe Primary School in Irrua, where she assured staff and pupils that the State Government is working tirelessly to ensure the speedy completion of all school-related projects to create safe and conducive environments for effective teaching and learning outcomes in the State.
