Edo State Government has received commendation for its steadfast dedication to the welfare of vulnerable groups across the State, particularly Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
This recognition was made by the Home for the Needy Foundation, which manages the IDP camp, Uhogua, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
Speaking during the visit, the Commissioner, Chief Bisi Idaomi Esq., stated that the administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo is actively working to improve the lives of vulnerable populations by implementing targeted interventions through the Ministry and other relevant agencies.
Chief Idaomi asserted that the recognition was a testament to the fact that the Government’s policies and interventions were already yielding tangible results, particularly in supporting women and children in rural and displaced communities.
While assuring the Foundation of Government’s continued support, she stressed that the administration remains focused on restoring dignity, improving livelihoods and ensuring that no one is left behind in the State’s developmental agenda.
Earlier in his remark, the Executive Director of the Home for the Needy Foundation, Pastor Solomon Folunshorun who was represented by the Director of Programme, Dr. Bartholomew Okoudo expressed appreciation to the State Government for its consistent support, which had significantly contributed to the improved wellbeing of camp residents.
He further noted that the Foundation was proud of the Government’s unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes and its broader developmental agenda.
