As Muslims faithful celebrate Eid-el-Fitri, which marks the end of Ramadan fast, I celebrate with our Muslim brothers and sisters in the Edo Civil/Public Service on the successful completion of the spiritual exercise.
As one of the pillars of Islam, the observance of Ramadan is significant to Muslims across the world as it teaches abstinence from worldly pleasures, self-denial, steadfastness in prayers/service to humanity, and total submission to the will of Allah in accordance with Quranic injunctions.
I hold the strong belief that the noble spiritual growth and development which the month long fasting promotes are veritable attributes of a progressive and result oriented public servant.
I urge Civil/Public Servants in the State to imbibe the spirit of selflessness and sacrifice as ordained by Allah (Subhana Wa Ta’ala) by rededicating themselves to delivering quality service to the people of the State in continuing with efforts of the Governor at revolutionizing the public service and strengthening its workforce both in quality and quantity.
I thank all Civil/Public Servants for believing in the transformation programme in the Edo State Civil/Public Service and for their commitment to their duties.
We thank God for sparing our lives to witness and celebrate the Year 2023 Eid-el-Fitri; ameen.
Happy Eid-el Fitri
Anthony Osas Okungbowa Esq.
