The Coordinator, Office of the First Lady, Mrs. Edesili Okpebholo Anani has commended the Aiguobasinmwin Movement for its dedication to promoting Edo State’s rich cultural heritage.

Mrs. Anani gave the commendation during a courtesy visit on the Office of the First Lady by representatives of the Movement at the Government House in Benin City. She paid glowing tributes to the revered Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, appreciating his esteemed position in society and his spiritual guidance.

According to Mrs. Anani, “It is good to know that we have people committed to our culture and heritage. Edo State is known to be a land of culture and heritage. It is referred to as the ‘Heartbeat of the Nation’. It is commendable that young people are interested in their culture.”

Mrs. Anani also reaffirmed the Governor Monday Okpebholo-led administration’s commitment to serving the people. According to her, “I want to say that we are here to serve. The leadership of this administration under distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo is servant leadership style. He is here to serve all of you. You send him on errand, that is what he will do. Tell him this is what we want for the State and that is what he will do. His humility is not a facade, it is real. That is who he is”.

Mrs. Anani pledged support for the Movement’s initiatives, stating that after reviewing the budget, her office would identify areas where funding could be provided. Additionally, she commended the Movement’s efforts to promote culture and empower individuals; asserting that a productive society is key to reducing social ills.

The Leader of the Movement, Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture while appreciating Mrs. Anani’s personality and her receptiveness to everyone, said, “We are here to congratulate you on the assumption of this great office. We are very happy with the way you have been driving this office. We have never seen the kind of push that you have. We are not here to flatter you. We have been watching your engagements, the way you receive people and we hope that other political office holders will emulate you. If we have somebody like you in other offices, Edo State will be a better place”.

The Movement sought collaboration with the Office of the First Lady, to support its planned two-month entrepreneurship workshop, in honor of His Royal Majesty, the Oba of Benin.
