… ‘Ize-Iyamu, not a member of APC’
Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr. Crusoe Osagie, has charged the former governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to clear himself of the heavy burden of a N700m election-related fraud case hanging around his neck before dabbling into affairs of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.
Osagie, in a statement, stressed that Ize-Iyamu has no grounds to comment on any issue bordering on the APC in Edo State because he is not a member of the party.
According to him, “Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is not a member of the APC in Edo State. He has no grounds whatsoever to comment on the affairs of the party in the state.
“Just as we have seen with the case of the suspended National Chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, who was suspended from his ward, an action upon which the FCT High Court judgement was based, you can only become a member of the party from the ward level.
“Ize-Iyamu is not a member of the party at the ward level. He attempted to join the party from Abuja, which is not the right way to go in becoming a member of the party. So, he is not known at the ward level.”
Noting that the former Edo PDP guber candidate also has an active corruption case that weighs gravely on his integrity, Osagie said, “Pastor Ize-Iyamu should be busy working towards exonerating himself from the heavy burden placed on his integrity with the N700m election fraud case and not dabbling into APC affairs.
“As things stand today, he is a suspected criminal. His integrity is in serious question. He should clear his name first. In fact, he should be seen and not heard. He has no modicum of integrity to comment on Edo APC affairs.”
