The Ojirrua of Irrua, HRH Alhaji W. O. Momodu has applauded the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board for holding the first-ever Hajj sensitisation programme in Edo Central part of the state.
Expressing his gratitude to the present administration for bringing the sensitisation programme to the area, the traditional ruler, who received the board’s team in his palace emphasized the importance of such initiatives in ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj experience for Muslims in the region.
Making the most of the opportunity, he also appealed to the state government to consider allocating Hajj slots to Muslims in Esan land when sponsoring Muslims to the Holy Land.
In their statements during the event held recently at Irrua Central Mosque, the Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, and the Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Eranga Muhammadkabir Abdulkabir assured pilgrims of the Board’s full support throughout the Hajj journey and called for cooperation from all stakeholders to ensure a seamless pilgrimage.
They noted that the event aims to prepare intending pilgrims in the region for the upcoming pilgrimage.
The sensitisation session, which had all the Imaams and members of the Muslim community in Edo Central in attendance provided valuable information on Hajj requirements, processes, and the introduced installment payment option, allowing pilgrims to make partial payments ranging from 1 million to 8.4 million Naira.
The Board reiterated its commitment to providing a spiritually enriching and memorable Hajj experience for all intending pilgrims.
