The Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has assured the leadership of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ovia South-West Local Government Area (LGA), of the commitment and dedication of the Sen. Monday Okpebholo-led administration to drive development across all sectors of the State.
In a statement endorsed by Friday Aghedo, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, he gave the assurance while playing host to members of the APC as led by the Ovia South-West LGA Chairman of the Party, Hon. Emmanuel Ogbomo, who were in his office on a courtesy visit on Tuesday 21st of January, 2025.
Rt. Hon. Idahosa who was appreciative of the unity, support, and prayers of the Party’s leadership over the years, in ensuring his successful emergence as the Deputy Governor of the State, stated that he is intentional in ensuring that the Sen. Monday Okpebholo led administration delivers laudable development to the locality.
In his words, “First, I want to thank you very much for what you have done for me. The first time I was nominated to be a commissioner here at the Government House in 2014, I served along with my elder brother, Arch. Evbuomwan, under the leadership of Adams Aliu Oshiomole. I served briefly, before I was nominated to represent the South-South region in the Project called Great Green Wall, under the Federal Ministry of Environment.
“While I was still serving there, most especially, my people of Ovia South-West didn’t allow me rest; they called me home to represent them in the Federal House of Representatives in 2019, and by the grace of God, and with your support, we ran that election and we won.
“That gave me the opportunity to represent you in the Federal House of Representatives. I served there as a son, and that gave me the opportunity in 2022 to represent you again in the same capacity. Because of your prayers and consistent support, I was also nominated to be the Deputy Governor of Edo State. And today just like Rt. Hon. Sunday Aghedo said; your son from Ovia South West, for the first time, is holding this position as the Deputy Governor of Edo State”.
The Deputy Governor assured of his Principal’s commitment to bringing development to the locality and prioritizing the wellbeing of citizens and residents of the State. He said the assurance is in recognition of the support and collaboration of the people of Ovia South-West LGA in ensuring the successful emergence of the present administration.
“I am going to say congratulations to all of us. Because your son is in Government House as the Deputy Governor, and I believe with the collaboration between me and my Principal, the Executive Governor of Edo State, I pray that the Government will extend hands of fellowship and will bring good development to Ovia South-West”, the Deputy Governor concluded.
Earlier in an address, the LGA Chairman of the Party, Hon. Ogbomo, commended the leadership style and loyalty of the Deputy Governor in ensuring even development across all sectors of the State. He pledged the Party’s support to ensure the success of the Sen. Monday Okpebholo led administration.
