
The Edo State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Prince Kassim Afegbua, has charged information officers to demonstrate greater dedication and professionalism in the discharge of their duties to effectively publicise the SHINE Agenda of the Sen. Monday Okpebholo’s administration.
Prince Afegbua gave the charge during the monthly meeting of the Information Department, which held at the Ministry’s premises in Benin City.
Commending the Department for its ongoing efforts aimed at work efficiency, the Commissioner encouraged staff to maintain diligence in their work. He assured the Department of the provision of improved tools and equipment to enhance the quality of their output.
In her remarks, the Director of Information, Mrs. Maureen Nwine, urged the officers to be more proactive in fulfilling their responsibilities. She emphasized the critical role of the Information Department in advancing the Ministry’s mandate, and noted that the publicity of ministries, departments and agencies of the State Government depends largely on the Information Department’s effectiveness.
Highpoint of the engagement was the assigning of specific schedules and responsibilities to information officers by the Director of Information, to ensure efficiency and accountability.
