The Director-General of the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), Dr. (Mrs.) Gina Otamere, has reiterated the vision of the Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on youth empowerment, assuring of JOOPSA’s readiness to collaborate with students in promoting youth development across Edo State.
Dr. Otamere made this known while receiving the Congress of Faculty Speakers (CONFAS), University of Benin, who paid her a courtesy visit at the Academy’s premises in Benin-City.
During the visit, the delegation presented her with an award of Excellence in Public Service, in recognition of her outstanding contributions.
In her remark, the Director General of JOOPSA, Dr. Otamere warmly appreciated the award, expressing gratitude for the honour. She encouraged the Student Leaders to remain focused on their academic pursuit.
The Director General further accepted the invitation extended to her to serve as a Keynote Speaker during the forthcoming CONFAS Legislative Week, pledging the Academy’s support for the programme.
Discussions between JOOPSA and CONFAS centered on possible areas of collaboration aimed at fostering youth development and leadership.
Speaking on behalf of the CONFAS delegation, the spokesperson for CONFAS, Mr. Taiye Abiodun expressed gratitude to the DG for her warmth and encouragement, harping on the Association’s commitment to partnerships that promote student leadership and development.
The CONFAS delegation included Nelson Ajibode, Harriet Osarugue and Confidence Osuya. The Managerial team of JOOPSA was in attendance during the visit.
