The Edo State Governor and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has assured residents of Iguoshodin Community, Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state that his administration will commence the construction of Iguoshodin Road and other roads in the area to boost economic activities.
Obaseki who gave the assurance while addressing a crowd of PDP supporters in Iguoshodin said: “If I didn’t come down here to see with my eyes the nature of this road, I will not believe that the road is in such a bad state.
“But I want to assure you that immediately after my inauguration on November 12, 2020, I will award the contract for this road. There is a difference between when you are told about a situation and when you see it yourself.
“Now, nobody can tell me; I have seen that this road is bad and will be done this year. We want to bring large scale farming to this community.”
Similarly, at Ugbokun Community, the governor promised to complete the Ugbokun access road, adding that the contractors will return to site soon.
“The contractors working on Ugbokun Road were away because of the outbreak of coronavirus. But I assure you that they will return to site soon.
“I understand there are security challenges here; I will organise local vigilante groups and build a police station here to check criminal activities,” the governor reassured.
The governor was accompanied on the ward-to-ward visit to communities in the area by his deputy and running mate, Rt. Hon. Comr. Philip Shaibu; Chairman Edo PDP Campaign Council, Chief Dan Orbih; Sen. Matthew Urhohide; Sen. Ehigie Uzamere, and a PDP Chieftain, Kenneth Imasuagbon, among others.
