Obaseki extols exemplary virtues of late Harry Osarodion

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has eulogized the virtues of late Dr. Harry Osarodion Nomayo, hailing him for his inspiration and support while he was alive.

The governor, who was joined by his wife, Betsy, spoke at a memorial service held at Deaconess Dorcas Erioye Emokpae Chapel in honour of the late Nomayo.

He noted, “We are here to express our love to our brother, Harry. He is the oldest cousin we have on our mother’s side, and for people like us, the Obaseki’s, I have over 300 first cousins on my mother’s and father’s sides. In all of them, he’s the first cousin for us.

“That makes him a very special person in our lives because as children, he was our compass. We looked up to him; he was the one exemplar after which we tried to model our lives. He was very special. For me in particular, he served as a pillar.

“We will continue to remember him. We will continue to thank God for his life because he represented our family values; he represented love, hard work, and the Christian heart, and for us, we will continue to miss him.”

Obaseki added, “As Christians, we believe he’s resting in the Lord. We are very proud of him. Adieu Brother Harry.”

Earlier in his message, the officiating minister, Prof. Monday Omoregie who titled his sermon ‘Brevity of life,’ said life belongs to God and urged the congregation not to be boastful of it.

“We should not be boastful of life because it’s not ours but of God, as He is the only one being who knows our future. I urge you to make plans for the future. Brother Harry has lived and has now gone to be with his maker.”

Dr. Harry Osarodion Nomayo died at the age of 77 years.
