Obaseki extols royal qualities of Late Enogie Edun Akenzua

Prince Agharese Akenzua, who spoke on behalf of the family,  expressed appreciation to the Governor for sharing in their grief.

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has described the late Enogie of Obazuwa-Iko, HRH. Agharese Edun Akenzua as a man who stood for the truth at all times and was very clear  on issues till the end.

Obaseki said this when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late traditional ruler in Benin City, on Sunday 28, August, 2022.

He said: “We thank God for his life; he was a great Edo man of the kingdom. When we were not clear on issues he always had an explanation, he was an encyclopedia and a consummate professional journalist.

“For me I am family, as you know for over the last 70 and more years, we have been family. He went to school with my mother and that explains why they looked out for me throughout my travails in politics.

“This is the first time I am coming to this house and he won’t be sitting here with me. But we thank God for his life.”

The Governor assured the family that the Edo State Government would stand with them through their period of grief.
